The price for the beef is as follows:

$1.75/# live weight for a split-half (quarter) of a beef

$1.70/# live weight for a half beef

$1.65/# live weight for a whole beef

Join together with friends and take advantage of the price break. The beef is scheduled for processing on April 30, so by Memorial Day you will have the healthiest steaks and burger available for your grill. Here is a link to the order form, which is due by April 25. (I will be in Honduras from April 12 - 22, so won't have the ability to communicate during that period of time.)

Thank you for your constant support of small, local farmers. Together we can feed our families the healthiest food available.

By utilizing season extension methods, we can produce many items, such as lettuce and oriental greens year round. The plastic high tunnels through the summer produce superior crops of eggplant, cucumbers, peppers and basil, plus many others. Although we are not certified organic, we do not grow any genetically altered crops and only use organically approved fertilizers, pesticides and fungicides and then only when necessary. Our motto is “Into the Future We Grow.”

I’m not an animal person. But, when my dad died suddenly in February 2008, I found myself with about 60 cows on my hands. I'd been trying to talk my dad into raising grass-fed beef for quite some time. Now, it was up to me.

After letting the shock of dad's death settle, I began reading everything I could find on raising grass-fed beef. I finally happened upon Joel Salatin's book, Salad-Bar Beef. This is the model with which I walk slowly forward. My oldest son Brandon helps care for the cows and together we continue to learn as all the beef cattle are now grass-fed.

There are benefits to raising cattle strictly on pasture, including beef that is higher in omega-3's and lower in saturated fat. For further information regarding the benefits to grass-fed beef, read our hand-out, Healthy Benefits in Grass-fed Beef.

Large quantities of hay are raised right here on the farm with no chemical inputs in the form of herbicides, pesticides or fungicides. Part of the beauty of ample pastures, is the ability to bale the grasses after the heavy spring growth to feed the cattle through the winter.
